Community Based Housing and Advocacy
Founding Mother’s Inc. (FMI) is a community based housing and advocacy project designed to provide formerly incarcerated women with the tools to combat discrimination and poverty they encounter on a daily basis. We are dedicated to supporting formerly incarcerated women by providing a home to call their own with advocates who work hand in hand with them as they move forward in their life choices, whether it be education or another career path to success. In addition to a safe place to live some of the services that we will provide are: connection to therapy for mental health, support for felony expungement, credit fixing, general health insurance, food stamps, medicare, nutrition assistance, and overall re-entry peer-to-peer support. We are also starting an All of Us or None chapter to address discriminatory policies faced by people returning home from jails and/or prisons.
